In the recent years, I have developed a passion for writing. Initially, my writing consisted of some letters to the editor in the local newspaper, and a few short essays about the music business and other social and political topics that I posted on some online message boards. As I slowly improved and developed my skills as a writer, I was asked to write some bios for a few artists and songwriters. In early 2009, I partnered with my wife Kelly's website design company, Just Ducky Designs, and began to develop content and write copy for some of her clients’ projects.

It was around this same point in time that I embarked on my first book writing project, the soon to be completed “Nashville Musician's Survival Manual.” This project began with a handful of short writings about being a musician in Nashville that I posted on Craigslist in response to some questions and rants. Upon receiving an overall positive reaction to my commentary, I was encouraged to write more about this subject. At this point in time, my book project, which began almost by accident, is near completion and provides a thorough breakdown and analysis of the Nashville Music Industry. Most of the music related jobs in Nashville are outlined with details about job requirements, pay structures, and the networking required to land paying work. It will offer a Birdseye perspective of life on tour and include many short stories and interviews from some industry veterans. It will also provide insight about what it is like to live, work, and get around in middle Tennessee for newcomers and those considering relocation.

If you are interested in hiring me as a writer or need help with a website project, please feel free to contact me.

I started this blog back in the spring of 2009 as a forum in which I could post some writings about the Nashville music scene, and music in general. Shortly after posting a couple of short essays I realized that my writings transcended a blog in the traditional sense, and I embarked on my first book writing project “The Nashville Musicians’ Survival Manual”.  Since that time I have continued blogging, posting over 100 articles about living, working, gigging and recording in Nashville, as well as many writings about my touring experiences over the years. The blog serves as a porthole into the music industry of Nashville and is designed to give some perspective about what goes on in the day-to-day life of a Nashville based touring/session musician.
